Sigtuna was founded over a thousand years ago as Sweden's capital. Today, its principal attraction is as picturesque market town set on the shore of Lake Mälaren. In the centre of town is the Sigtuna Stads Hotell standing on the ancient main street whilst overlooking the placid expanse of the lake.
